Routines and Habits: Through The Eyes of a Teenage Girl

Well, I should probably start my first blog post with a little introduction and what exactly led me to create a blog surrounding wellness and lifestyle-inspired content. I have been pretty passionate about wellness and self-care for a while now, especially as a girl, I have come to learn the importance of taking care of yourself and prioritizing what is best for you. Through all the typical teenage girl struggles while growing up as we learn and find who we are as individuals, dealing with the changes of high school, breakups, your first period, finding a solid group of friends, and honestly the list goes on and on. What you do each day matters. How you choose to start and end your day matters. Realizing the importance of my routines and habits throughout the day has slowly but surely improved my attitude toward each day.

Don’t get me wrong, I am no professional by any means (and I for sure do not claim to be-hence the title). I just wanted to share my relatable experiences and stories, and the things I have learned and I am still learning every day as a teenage girl, and hopefully inspire and encourage others. Routines and habits each morning has provided structure to my day and given me something to look forward to when I wake up. Important habits that I have enforced throughout my day include; waking up early, not going on my phone and mindlessly scrolling through social media for the first hour of my morning, praying more, meditating, practicing gratitude, spending more mindful time in nature, reading, and, more importantly, journaling in both the morning and in the evening. Journaling has become such a big part of my day (yes, I am aware of the irony coming from someone studying to go into journalism).

However, it has given me an outlet and a safe space for all of my thoughts, no matter how good or not so good thoughts. This link for Journal writing notebooks are journals I highly recommend for someone wishing to get started with journaling, including journals with pre-written journal prompts as well. However, it is also important to start incorporating habits that work for you and your lifestyle, speaking of which my new favourite book that I have just started reading is Atomic Habits by James Clear. Trust me I am going to put you on to the best books throughout my blog, since I am back in my reading era (we’ll see how long that lasts).

I thought for my first post, a short little introduction to what my blog is about would be a good place to start and learn from. If you made it this far (it is really short, so I hope you would’ve), thank you so much for reading, stay tuned for more content and posts, coming soon ! 🙂
